Kristina reached out with a problem that made my heart ache for her… The ONLY photograph she had of her parents together had started to crack, curl and even crumble apart. The decades-old frame it was originally in had fallen apart, and the photo was quickly deteriorating to her despair. What was she to do?

Photographs can be some of our very dearest treasures, and if you find yourself in a similar circumstance, there are really only a few options…

1. Mail the delicate, priceless, irreplaceable photo to an internet-based company that’s out of state (or even out of country 😳) you found on Google that promises to restore and reprint it for you.
2. Take a picture with your phone and just enjoy it that way for now, but at the risk of losing your phone or the photo into the digital ether someday. (Remember AOL? Blogspot? MySpace? Someday I fear that Facebook will join those forgotten programs)
3. Just ignore it and hope that entropy (the 2nd law of thermodynamics) is somehow miraculously paused. 😉 Okay, that’s not really a good option, I’m joking, but it’s probably the default because life is just too busy for everything, right?
4. Call your local photographer and enlist their help digitizing and reprinting your precious memories.

As you will no doubt guess, I’m here for those of you who are looking for solution #4.
