On St. Patrick’s Day, the senior class of OUHSC’s medical program ate lunch with great anticipation of where they would be matched for their residencies. This was our second year in a row to photograph this special occasion, and this year the emotion and excitement was just as high as last year.

Despite the butterflies in many a stomach, lunch was beautiful, as Gaillardia always insures. Little did they know, that their futures were hidden in plain site right before them… in the centerpieces!

Once they found out where their match information was, it didn’t take long for all of them to tear into the centerpieces and find out where they would be going (or staying, as the case was for many) for residency.

I love this picture, with the couple, both on the phone. After the immediate reactions, most of the students grabbed their cell phones to call their families with the news.
