The hot weather has broken and it always seems to take a while for us to get into maximum efficiency mode after a slow, hot summer. =) I have piles on my desk begging for attention, but I’m going to ignore them for just long enough to blog a few of the cutest images.

Meet “Steel” born to our good friends Jarred & Denise, who you might remember from their snowy wedding last March. Is he not the cutest thing ever?

For our regular blog followers, this is the same Ricky who married Courtney earlier this year as featured in this blog post back in April.

We got some fun photos in their Northwest OKC neighborhood, starting in their giant gazebo, then at the playground (where Ricky & Courtney’s true colors come out, I might add! =), by a fountain, in a field, smashing a pinata, poking a bit of fun at Ricky’s sister, and dunking on the basketball court. We ended up with so many great images, but I’ve narrowed down a few of our favorites to share here.

Okay, I know… a lot of swinging pictures, but they were just SO cute!! Love you guys…

And then Ricky got some massive air jumping off the swing!

Then we hit the court and Ricky got to show off a bit with some really amazing skies behind him.

At first glance, the beloved images look a lot like those from an engagement session, but with a depth and maturity that is the fruit of loving each other through thick and thin, life’s ups and downs.

Unlike a posed studio session, a beloved session facilitates an experience of genuine love for each other. And then captures those moments of sincere emotion and love. No “cheesing” for the camera, or awkward posing in unnatural positions. =)

Love is, by far, one of the greatest treasures of any life. The constant barrage of responsibilities, electronic communications, work, and stress can slowly erode the very thing we treasure most by distracting us from nurturing and exploring it. Love must be rediscovered, rekindled, and valued over and over throughout our lives and in relationships in order to last. The beloved portrait session can be a significant part of your investment in your relationship with your beloved.

Images like these serve as a reminder of the joy and importance of the relationship, during the blissful and the difficult times, and can help springboard the couple back to realizing what’s important — genuine communication and love.

It was a hundred, but the heat index (factoring in humidity) was showing about a thousand degrees this fine June day when we did the Garrett family’s portraits at a park in Edmond. =) They were troopers, though, and I think we all managed to have a good time despite the heat. Thankfully, we always shoot at the end of the day when it starting to cool off, and the light is pretty.
