The Garrett Family

Summer is here in full swing! It was a hundred, but the heat index (factoring in humidity) was showing about a thousand degrees this fine June day when we did the Garrett family’s portraits at a park in Edmond. =) They were troopers, though, and I think we all managed to have a good time despite the heat. Thankfully, we always shoot at the end of the day when it starting to cool off, and the light is pretty.

The Block Family

We spent a beautiful evening at the Block’s home in Edmond, photographing the family with their latest addition, baby Grace, in those beautiful East-side surroundings! Grace was a dream to work with, and we had some really wonderful light to work with, too.

Here are our favorites from the session… 22 of them. Enjoy!

I really should have brought my swim trunks, but playing Call of Duty 4 on the 8-foot high-def screen was definitely the more memorable experience. =) Too bad it was date night and I had to run after just a couple of rounds of being schooled and slaughtered. Looking forward to visiting with you guys at a more leisurely pace in just a couple of weeks!

Ryan Turns Two – Part Two

Well, the website maintenance seems to have gone without much of a hitch. Our site was down for just a few hours last night very late, so hopefully it wasn’t a problem for any of you. I actually think our site seems to load quicker after the move than before. Maybe it’s just me… Any of you notice a difference?

A couple of weeks ago, we blogged a preview of Ryan’s session for his 2nd birthday. I just realized I hadn’t followed up with our favorites, so here they are… All 25 of our favorites!

Ryan Turns Two :: A Preview

I was just looking over these images from last night’s photo session and I just had to share one with you. Ryan turned two recently and we had a great time creating some fun portraits that are uniquely Ryan!

Ryan’s parents were the perfect facilitators for a good session for kids – they were laid back and didn’t stress too much if Ryan started squirming and was ready for a change.

Really, we see ourselves as being there to capture images of our subjects having a great time, not to pose and create a fake image of them looking like they’re having fun. We grownups can fake fun sometimes, but no two year old is down for that. You just have to love the genuineness and authenticity of children this age. =)

Favorites from Jack’s Portraits

I think we may have just set a record… Less than 48 hours after Jack’s photo shoot, his gallery is online and ready to enjoy!

We used to take two weeks to edit after a session, but this year so far we’ve been averaging less than one week… I like the direction we’re moving… We’re definitely going to have to keep this up. =)

Photo of the Day: Snow Days

Just wanted to share a fun picture from the most recent snowstorm. This just cracks me up! This is Storie, trying to catch a snowflake on her tongue. The snow was coming down so hard, that she pulled her hat down over her eyes, covering them completely! I pulled it up several times, but this was the highest she’d let me raise it, and only for a moment.

This reminds me of her other most recent trick she’s been proud to show people… Chewing with her eyes closed. What gifted children. =)

These Are The Days…

These are the moments we’re going to reminisce about, I know it already.

Holly took our princesses to the park before the real cold weather hits for some fun pictures, and to showcase Grammy’s amazing sewing talents. (Can you believe Holly’s mom sewed these dresses?!) Anyway, I missed the session due to the U2 concert last night, but was really delighted to see this storyboard that Holly worked on last night and couldn’t resist sharing it with you.

Does it get any cuter than that?

Okay, back to work… =)

Favorite Images from the Week

I’m a few sessions behind on blog posts, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to put them all together in one long post of images! Enjoy!

The image below may be one of my favorite of all time so far… Just loved the storm clouds moving in and the great sky we had to work with that day.

It was crazy-windy, though! Like sustained 30mph wind.

She’s actually not lying down in this next one, she’s actually leaning into the wind. Okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration… I think.

I swear I had these sunglasses when I was in high school… Classic! The intense blue sky reflected in them was pretty cool, I thought.

So, that brings us up to speed for now! Hope you’ll forgive me for 2 blog posts in the same day. =)
